Ingredients:
- 2 lbs of ground chuck
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1 can of crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 5 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
- 1 large onion or 2 medium onions, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons minced parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried sweet basil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- In an extra-large heated skillet, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the diced onions and green peppers. Cook for 5-7 minutes over medium heat until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and cook until it’s browned and fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the ground chuck and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain off any excess grease from the meat.
- Add all the spices: garlic powder, onion powder, minced parsley, dried basil, Italian seasoning, oregano, sea salt, and black pepper. Stir well to evenly distribute the seasonings through the browned meat.
- Next, add the crushed and diced tomatoes. Stir them in and let the mixture cook for about 5 minutes to combine the flavors.
- Finally, add the tomato sauce and stir. Turn the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Cooking the Spaghetti:
- While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the water to prevent the pasta from sticking.
- Boil the spaghetti pasta for about 7-8 minutes, or until al dente. Drain the water off.
To Serve:
Once the pasta is cooked and the sauce has simmered for an hour, combine the sauce with the drained spaghetti. Serve hot and enjoy!
Tips:
- For extra richness, you can add a splash of red wine to the sauce before simmering.
- If you like a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Top with grated Parmesan cheese for an added layer of flavor.
This easy and flavorful spaghetti meat sauce is the perfect comfort meal. It’s simple to make, yet packed with savory goodness that will make everyone want seconds!
