Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 24 frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
- ¼ cup diced pickles (optional)
- ¼ cup ketchup (or your favorite burger sauce)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: mini waffle cones or crescent dough cones (see instructions below)
Instructions:
1. Make the Cones:
You can use one of two methods:
Option A – Crescent Dough Cones (DIY):
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Wrap aluminum foil into cone shapes (or use metal cone molds).
- Wrap crescent roll dough around the molds, overlapping slightly.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until golden brown. Let cool, then gently remove from mold.
Option B – Use Mini Waffle Cones:
- Skip baking and use ready-made mini waffle cones (adds sweetness for a fun twist).
2. Cook the Tater Tots:
- Bake or air fry tater tots according to package instructions until crispy.
- Once cooked, smash them slightly with a spoon to make them easier to pack into cones.
3. Cook the Beef:
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Drain excess fat.
4. Assemble the Filling:
- In a bowl, combine cooked beef, crumbled bacon, and ¾ cup shredded cheddar.
- Stir in ketchup or burger sauce to taste.
- Optional: Add diced pickles for crunch and tang.
5. Assemble the Cones:
- Fill each cone with a spoonful of the cheeseburger mixture.
- Top with a smashed tater tot or two.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
6. Bake to Melt Cheese (Optional):
- Place filled cones upright in a muffin tin or foil ring to keep them steady.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes until cheese melts.
7. Serve & Enjoy!
Serve warm. Great for parties, game day, or a fun dinner twist!
