Nuns Puffs

Light, airy, and buttery! These classic Nun’s Puffs are a delightful pastry with a crisp outside and a soft, custard-like center. Simple ingredients, big flavor, and an irresistibly fluffy texture!

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick butter (½ cup)
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • ½–1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • Sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add milk and bring to a boil.
  3. Quickly add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a smooth dough and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. The batter will become smooth and glossy.
  6. Stir in sugar if using.
  7. Spoon batter evenly into prepared muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
  8. Sprinkle tops with sugar if desired.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed fresh and warm!

Tips:

  • Don’t open the oven during baking or the puffs may collapse.
  • Optional: Drizzle with honey or dust with powdered sugar for a sweet finish.

Perfect for brunch, tea time, or a light dessert!
