Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and prepare a bundt or loaf pan with grease and flour.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy and well-mixed.
  3. Add eggs individually, beating after each addition.
  4. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  5. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture, mixing until smooth.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract for a fragrant finish.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and level the top.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
